Promoting Sustainable Agriculture: TUAT and JA Shimane Partnership
Our research group played a key behind-the-scenes role by linking Mr. Masuda to TUAT researchers. We first met Mr. Masuda through a CEO introduced to us at a conference, and subsequently facilitated the connection that integrated his technology into TUAT’s work. This crucial link helped build the collaboration that supports sustainable regional agriculture.

(Interview)異分野融合と多様性マネジメント、化学物理工学科教員が目指す次世代人材育成 The new department
In my research group, a student and I design the thesis research theme that student want to do, together. This “design process” may take several months, but I think the students have the power they need in an era where problem setting is more important than problem solving. 研究室では、学生がやりたい卒論研究テーマについて学生と一緒に設計していきます。この「設計」が数カ月かかる作業になったりしますが、問題解決能力より課題設定能力が大事と言われる時代において求められる力を身に着けていると思います。

TUAT ranked as the top 1% of universities in Asia. In particular, it became the second place in Japan as “the number of papers per academic-staff” which is an indicator of “research power”.

The working group (“Chief”: Wuled Lenggoro) created a website for the new Department of Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering (2019新設) 化学物理工学科の独自サイト: http://tuat-chemphys.net/ The bachelor education will be started from April 2019. The new department’s first students may join our lab in 2021.
