卒業生が開発した、機械学習で”摩擦学”アプリ Alumni: A machine learning “Tribology” app.

Note: 開発者の卒論のテーマは植物由来原料を添加した燃焼合成法による二次電池用粉末の合成でした。英国の大学院に進学し、「摩擦」研究者になりました。The subject of the developer’s bachelor thesis was the synthesis of powders for rechargeable batteries by combustion synthesis using plant-based materials. She went to postgraduate school in the UK and became a ‘friction’ researcher.

Opinion: 研究を使った次世代対応型教育へ (The role of research on next generation learning)

対VUCAに適応力の高い人材を養成するには、リスクを意識しながら失敗を経験させ、失敗から学ぶプロセスを反復練習できる環境づくりが必要です。In order to develop highly adaptable human resources to the VUCA, it is necessary to create an environment in which people can experience failures while being aware of risks and repeatedly practice the process of learning from failures.

卒業生に日本エアロゾル学会奨励賞 (Alumni) Dr. Naoya Hama: Young Researcher Award (Association of Aerosol Science & Tech.)

受賞対象研究:さまざまな粒子発生源に対するエアロゾル(気中)計測装置の適用性に関する研究、および企業会員と学会の連携強化に対する貢献。Research on the applicability of aerosol (gas-phase) measurement devices to a variety of particle sources and contributions to strengthening collaboration between company members and academic societies.

After three years with us, Y. Hogaki and S. Azuhata, two master-course graduates entered the industries (Hitachi Chemical 日立化成, and Daikin Industries ダイキン工業) and other two fellows (without master-thesis), Y. Asanuma and N. Interview: 化学物理工学科について About the new department.

In my research group, a student and I design the thesis research theme that student want to do, together. This “design process” may take several months, but I think the students have the power they need in an era where problem setting is more important than problem solving. 研究室では、学生がやりたい卒論研究テーマについて学生と一緒に設計していきます。この「設計」が数カ月かかる作業になったりしますが、問題解決能力より課題設定能力が大事と言われる時代において求められる力を身に着けていると思います。

卒業生は今どこに?Where are our graduates now? (Lenggoro Lab)

In April 2018: Six students (D/M/B) graduated, after year(s) worked with us. Here is the updated data of our lab’s 40+ graduates, 11 years after the lab started. Because “diversity matter” is our lab’s keyword, the graduates’ positions also have diversity. Only one company (Toray Industries) has two graduates. Four graduates changed the job places….
