Exhibition: Parallel Forests
The exhibition “Parallel Forests” by 2025 CCBT Artist Fellow Yuma Kishi will be held at Uminomori Park. Set in the forest at night, this installation utilizes sensing technology to capture the minute reactions of plants, transforming them into a landscape of light and sound. In the stillness of the park after hours, the forest reveals a silhouette unlike any seen during the day.
About the Project: Botanical Intelligence (BI)
Artist Fellow Yuma Kishi is developing “Botanical Intelligence (BI),” a project that reimagines modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) through a botanical lens. By precisely sensing multi-dimensional environmental data—such as light, wind, and soil conditions—and implementing “Generative BI” to output text and audio, the project seeks to pioneer a “Commons” where both humans and non-humans can thrive together.
The Experience at Uminomori Park
In “Parallel Forests,” the night forest becomes a stage. The installation features the debut of the “BI” platform, which adjusts its algorithms in real-time based on data received from plants, generating a resonance intended for both humans and the flora itself.
Uminomori Park, built on reclaimed land in Tokyo Bay, offers a unique urban space where the sky, wind, and vegetation feel intimately close. As you walk through the forest and listen closely, your perception of the environment will begin to shift.
