科学技術振興機構（JST）は2022/3/11日、未発表のプレプリント（査読前論文）を無料公開するWebサイト「Jxiv」（ジェイカイブ）の運用を始めた。自然科学や人文学・社会科学、学際融合領域全ての研究分野に関連するプレプリントを、日本語か英語で投稿・公開できる。費用は無料。

投稿したプレプリントにはDOIを付与。再利用しやすいようライセンス条件が付き、オープンアクセスのコンテンツとして公開される。

条件：researchmapに登録、または、ORCIDのIDを持つ研究者

専門家の査読はなく、JSTが審査し、数日以内に公開するという。公開したプレプリントは学術誌で査読を受け、受理されるまで改版が可能。学術誌での公開後も、プレプリントはJxiv上でオープンアクセスで公開され続ける。

Jxivの開設の理由を同機構は「論文が学術誌で公開されるまで、査読や校正に時間が必要なため長いと数年かかることもある」と説明。

　Jxivの開設により、学術誌の査読前に研究成果の公表が可能になる。これにより、研究コミュニティーからのフィードバックのサイクルが早まり、プレプリントを公開した研究者自身の研究が加速するだけでなく、研究コミュニティー全体の活性化も期待できるとしている。

On 2022/3/11, the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) launched Jxiv, a Web site that provides free access to unpublished preprints. Pre-prints related to all research fields in the natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary areas can be submitted and published in Japanese or English. There is no charge.

DOI is given to the submitted preprint. Licensed and published as open access content for easy reuse.

Conditions: Researchers registered in the researchmap or with an ID of ORCID

There is no peer review by experts, JST will review it and publish it within a few days. Once a preprint is published, it can be reviewed in a journal and revised until accepted. After publication in a journal, the preprint will remain open access on Jxiv.
