On January 29, 2026, a delegation of senior faculty members from three leading Indonesian universities — Universitas Indonesia (UI), IPB University, and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) — visited the TUAT Institute of Engineering to discuss ongoing and future academic collaboration.
The delegation included:
- Dr. Heri Hermansyah, Rector of Universitas Indonesia
- Prof. Dr. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, Dean of Engineering, UI
- Dr. Muhammad Sahlan, Associate Professor, UI
- Dr. Hamim, Senior Researcher, IPB University
- Dr. Rino Rakhmata Mukti, Associate Professor, ITB
They were welcomed by TUAT Executive Director Dr. Nobufumi Nakamura (the President-elected), Dean Masafumi Hirano, Prof. Masafumi Yohda (COI-NEXT Coordinator), and Prof. Wuled Lenggoro.
The meeting opened with an introduction to TUAT through institutional videos, followed by a presentation by Prof. Lenggoro summarizing the long-standing academic ties between TUAT and Indonesia. Discussions focused on strengthening future collaborations, including student mobility programs, the potential use of Indonesia’s LPDP scholarship for graduate study at TUAT, and expanding joint research activities.
During the exchange, the Indonesian guests expressed their appreciation for TUAT’s participation in the international conference held in Yogyakarta in October 2025, where roughly 50 TUAT students and faculty took part. TUAT representatives also conveyed gratitude for the support provided by UI, IPB, and ITB in hosting TUAT’s dedicated session at the conference and for facilitating inbound non-degree students.
Both sides agreed on the importance of establishing a more robust framework for semester-based non-degree student exchanges, as well as deepening cooperation in research and talent development. The visit concluded with a commitment to continue building a long-term partnership that enhances academic opportunities for students and researchers in both countries.

1月29日（木）に、海外協定校であるインドネシア大学のヘリ・ヘルマンサヤ学長（Dr. Heri Hermansyah）、ケマス・リドワン・クルニアワン工学部長（Prof. Dr. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan）、ムハンマド・サーラン工学部教授（Dr. Muhammad Sahlan）、ボゴール農業大学のハミム主任研究員（Dr. Hamim）、バンドン工科大学のリノ・ラフマタ・ムクティ准教授（Dr. Rino Rakhmata Mukti）合計5名ご一行が工学研究院を訪問し、中村暢文特命理事・事務局長、平野雅文工学研究院長、養王田正文COI-NEXTコーディネーター・特任教授、ウレット・レンゴロ教授が一行をお迎えしました。
会談では、本学の動画による紹介、レンゴロ教授によるインドネシアと本学の交流についてのプレゼンテーションを行い、LPDPによる国費留学等、今後の本学との国際連携に関する検討や交流促進について活発な意見交換が行われました。2025年10月にジョグジャカルタで開催された国際会議において、本学から派遣した約50名の訪問団による研究発表に対し謝意が示されました。併せて、本学側から国際会議における農工大セッションの設置ならびに本学に対する非正規生の派遣調整への協力に対する感謝の意をお伝えしました。さらにセメスター単位の非正規生の受け入れと派遣も含め、今後の学生交流の一層の推進に向けた協力体制について建設的な議論が行われました。
