研究室の記録（2008年度）

2008年3月、開催されたセラミックス協会年会（新潟県長岡市）には、博士課程後期のナズリ・ナイムが研究室の学生として初めて学会発表を行いました。発表の前に、その関連の特許を出願しました。これも研究室は初の特許でした。同じ週に、日本エアロゾル学会若手会の幹事会および講演会があり、講演者は金沢大学の博士課程後期の山本氏でした。D. student Nazli Naim was the first student from our laboratory to present at a scientific meeting (the annual meeting of the Ceramic Society of Japan held in Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture). Before the presentation, we applied for a patent related to it. This was also the first patent for our laboratory. In the same week, there was an executive meeting and a lecture meeting of the Young Aerosol Society of Japan (at Koganei campus), and the speaker was Mr. Yamamoto, a doctoral student at Kanazawa University.

2008/3月末には研究室（部屋）の引っ越しがありました。１年間BASE本館の3階にいた私たちが2階（元堀尾研究室）のスペースに移動しました。そのための荷物の片付けや掃除もお手伝いして、４月からは新しい研究室・実験室に入ることができました。At the end of March 2008, we had to move our laboratory (room); after being on the third floor of the BASE main building for a year, we moved to the space on the second floor (the former Horio Laboratory). We helped with the packing up and cleaning for this move, and we were able to enter our new labs and experiments in April.

４月からは、3名の学部生および堀尾研の卒業生の２名が加わりました。初年度の2007年度で４名だった学生数は、一気に９名となりました。In April, three undergraduates and two graduates of the Horio Lab joined us. The number of students has suddenly increased from four in the first year of the program (2007) to nine.

M1の鈴木が粉体工学会（京都市）に参加しました。まだ発表ができませんでしたが、学会の雰囲気味わえることができて、同年代の学生の活躍を直接知ることができました。M1 student Suzuki participated in a Conference of the Japan Society of Powder Technology (Kyoto). Although he did not give a presentation yet, he was able to experience the atmosphere of the conference and directly learn about the activities of students his age.

8月25-26日は小金井キャンパスでインドネシア留学生協会・大使館主催の日本インドネシア国交樹立50周年記念行事および第17回インドネシア科学技術会議がありました。日本とインドネシアのバイオマスに関するシンポジウムもあり、堀尾名誉教授がパネリストの一人でした。そのイベントには、農工大とインドネシアの最古大学・ガジャマダ大学との国際学術交流協定調印式もあり、その際に副学長の一団が当研究室に見学しました．レンゴロはシンポジウムのコーディネーターをしていました。On August 25-26 (2008), the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Indonesia and the 17th Indonesian Science and Technology Conference were held at the TUAT Koganei Campus, sponsored by the Indonesian Students Association and the Embassy of Indonesia in Japan. There was also a symposium on biomass in Japan and Indonesia, and Professor Emeritus Horio was one of the panelists. The event also included a signing ceremony for an international academic exchange agreement between TUAT and Indonesia’s oldest university, Gadjah Mada University, at which a group of vice presidents visited our laboratory. Prof. Lenggoro was a coordinator of the symposium.

9月17日に、北九州市で開催された日本セラミックス協会秋期シンポジウムに、修士課程2回生の添田が学会デビューをしました。On September 17 (2008), Soeda, a second-year master’s student, made his academic debut at a scientific conference (the Autumn Symposium of the Ceramic Society of Japan held in Kitakyushu City)

10月3日に、年一度の東京農工大学の研究発表会（ＪＳＴと共催で、産学共同シーズイノベーション化事業）では、レンゴロが研究成果の紹介を行いました。特に液中と気中の粒子の静電気による移動について、数社からの直接相談と後日の問い合わせがありました。On October 3 (2008), Prof. Lenggoro presented the results of our research at the annual Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology’s research forum (a joint industry-university seed innovation project, co-hosted with JST). In particular, we received direct consultations and later inquiries from several companies about electrostatic transport of particles in liquid and air.

10月には、濱氏が博士課程後期の学生として入学しました。エアロゾル計測関係の会社員でありながら、大学で基礎的な研究を行い、論文も作成する予定です。粉体工学会2008年度秋期研究発表会（千葉幕張）には、修士課程1回生の鈴木が発表しました。こちらもデビュー発表でした。In October, Mr. Naoya Hama enrolled as a doctoral student. While working for a company related to aerosol measurement, he plans to conduct basic research at the university and write a doctoral thesis. Mr. Suzuki, a first-year master’s student, gave a presentation at the 2008 Fall Meeting of the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Technology (Makuhari, Chiba). This was also his debut presentation.
