This is a summary of the employment destinations of our lab’s graduates as updated in April 2024. The graduates have secured diverse jobs, including positions in chemical materials, construction, semiconductors and precision equipment, food products, civil service (e.g., Japan Self-Defense Forces), and academic roles (university faculty in chemistry, biology, and physics).
The organizations highlighted in green are new additions as of April 2024. The master’s and doctoral graduates have found employment at companies such as Itoham Foods Inc., Nissan Chemical Corp., Santec Holdings (optical instruments), as well as a faculty member at the School of Life Science and Technology at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in Indonesia. The high level of diversity in the employment of our lab’s graduates demonstrates the breadth of their capabilities.

Our laboratory students are free to choose their own job destinations, just as they are free to determine their own research topics. It is a notable characteristic that many students choose not to join organizations where their seniors from the lab already work.
Over the years, our lab has had a few students who struggled academically and even had to “repeat years”, earning poor grades. However, even these students have gone on to secure positions at globally renowned organizations.
Over the past 15 years, we have come to realize that a student’s grades during their studies do not necessarily align with their real-world job search capabilities. What appears to matter more is not the knowledge they have amassed, but rather their capacity and drive to continually learn – the process is more important than the outcomes.
