A Leading Program Seminar was held on September 18 (Thursday) at the Green Hall of the New Building 1 on the Koganei Campus. The seminar featured Dr. Ginandjar Kartasasmita, a member of the Indonesian Presidential Advisory Council, who spoke on the theme “Bridging Indonesia and Japan, Developing Global Leaders.”

During the event, Dr.  Ginandjar, an esteemed alumnus of our university and an honorary doctorate holder, shared his experiences from his time studying in Japan and his subsequent roles as a minister and other high-ranking positions in Indonesia. He discussed the mindset required to become a globally active leader.

His talk, which highlighted his leadership in fostering domestic industry growth under various Indonesian presidents, was filled with vivid anecdotes, capturing the attention of the participants. His emphasis on the importance of personal connections, demonstrated through his interactions with members of the Japanese royal family, former prime ministers, and politicians from various countries, left a strong impression on attendees regarding the deepening friendship between Indonesia and Japan.

The seminar provided valuable insights into international exchanges, featuring discussions that could only be drawn from years of experience at the heart of the nation. It proved to be a meaningful event, inspiring not only students but also faculty and staff.
