大学院修士課程の学生、（S. K. 氏）はこの度、個人的な旅行で南極大陸（注：実際の南極点ではありません）へ渡航し、アルゼンチン経由で現地を訪問しました。本旅行は観光目的で、極地の自然環境の見学を通じて極域におけるフィールド環境への理解を深める良い機会となりました。滞在中、S. K. 氏は氷床や氷河の景観を観察し、極地での生活環境や気象条件に関する第一手の経験を得ました。今後、同氏が本旅行で得た知見を研究活動に活かしてくれることを期待しています。
Our master’s student, S. K. , recently traveled to the Antarctic continent (note: not the geographic South Pole) for personal travel, traveling via Argentina. The trip was recreational and offered an excellent opportunity to experience polar environments firsthand and glacial landscapes. During the visit, S. K. observed ice sheets and glaciers and gained direct experience of the living and meteorological conditions unique to polar regions. We look forward to S. K. bringing insights from this journey back to his research activities.
